ASSIGNMENTS
All assignments are to be practiced a minimum of five days per week. Three of those days must be completed by Friday. All five days, including parent initials, must be completed by the due date, recorded on the Practice Chart, and presented to Mr. Colaner in class.

Due 5/06/13: "Five Beets in the Oven" entire piece five (5) times.
Due 4/29/13: "Five Beets in the Oven" entire piece five (5) times.
Due 4/22/13: "Five Beets in the Oven" entire piece five (5) times.
Due 4/15/13: "Five Beets in the Oven" entire piece five (5) times.
Due 4/08/13: No assignment. Enjoy your Easter break!
Due 3/25/13: "Beets in the Oven" measures 1-26 two (2) times per day. "Be Thou My Vision" (both keys) two (2) times per day. "America the Beautiful" two (2) times per day.
Due 3/18/13: "Beets in the Oven" measures 13-26 six (6) times per day; measures 1-26 three (3) times per day.
Due 3/11/13: "Beets in the Oven" measures 1-13 five (5) times per day.
Due 3/04/13: "Be Thou My Vision", both keys, four (4) times per day. "America" (practice as needed - no set number of tallies).
Due 2/25/13: No assignment due. Enjoy a brief vacation!
Due 2/21/13 (Note that this is a Thursday due to the Presidents' Day observance): Exercise #22 A, B, C, & D five (5) times per day with repeats.
Due 2/11/13: Exercise #58 melody staff five (5) times per day.
Due 2/04/13: Exercise #55 five (5) times per day. Perforom the vibrato excercise (see p. 48 II "Polishing the String") for 20 seconds five (5) times per day.
Due 1/28/13: No assignment due. Enjoy a brief vacation!
Due 1/24/13 (Note that this is a Thursday due to the MLK observance): Memorize the fingerings on your D string and your A string in the keys of D, G, & C; (work on this as needed - no tallies). Exercise #17 four (4) times per day. Exercise #20 four (4) times per day.
Due 1/21/13: No assignment due Monday - MKL Day. We received an assignment on 1/17/13 that will be due 1/24/12.
Due 1/14/13: C major scale in two octaves (practice as needed). Exercises #13, #14, & #15 (practice as needed.) "As needed" practicing means the student is still tallying the number of times the assignment is practiced, but how many tallies per day is up to the student. The student should do as many repeats as is necessary to learn the assignment. More advanced students will require less tallies to accomplish this goal.
Due 12/10/12 and 12/17/12: No further assignments until after Christmas vacation. Congratulations on two excellent concerts!
