ELEMENTARY MUSIC page
Training in vocal technique begins as early as kindergarten General Music. More formal choral singing comes as students in grades 5 & 6 perform in two cantatas each year, singing in two and three part harmony.
Instrumental music instruction begins when 3rd grade students are introduced to the soprano recorder as part of their General Music class. Recorder instruction continues through grade 4 General Music.
Beginning with grade 5, students are encouraged to consider enrolling in our band (wind and percussion) or orchestral strings (violin, viola, cello) programs.
